Do you ever try to capture the present moment as if it is something that can be contained within a box?
You cannot possibly store or share every single memory, every quote and every good time you have ever had.
If you are constantly looking back, what does that mean in the present?
Be present.
Breathe.
The past is often great but all there really is, is now. Enjoy it!
On a recent trip to St Ives, I found myself taking loads of photos.
If you have ever been to St Ives you will know how beautiful it is and how many photos you could take.
In the end howver, my constant picture taking started to distract, annoy and frustrate me. I couldn’t walk 10 steps without taking pictures!
What I did instead
I simply left my camera phone at home and went for a long walk. Just me and my thoughts.
The result
I felt free and relaxed. I wasn’t interrupted as soon as I saw something beautiful by the thought that I had to capture it and hang onto it.
I appreciated the amazing surroundings moment by moment.
My inner voice quietened down and I just enjoyed the scenery.
Try it sometime. No need to hang on so tightly to the present as it becomes the past.
Here is one picture for you to savour that I took once I got my happy snapping under control:
Be Deliberate!
